After an initial consult via phone we can determine if we are a good fit for therapy. As a new client. you will be added to the EHR system where you’ll receive a link for intake documents to be filled out and signed. These forms are added to your chart electronically. A credit card on file and intake documents are needed prior to scheduling your first session. Once all documents are received a session will be scheduled for the initial intake session. In this first session we will explore your expectations and needs for therapy and create a collaborative plan to help you reach your objectives for treatment.
Intake and subsequent sessions will be a clinical hour which is 55 minutes. Typically, sessions are scheduled weekly so that rapport can be built and momentum for treatment can occur. Reduced frequency can be explored as needed. Treatment length can vary and ultimately is up to your commitment to attend. Regular and consistent attendance can yield beneficial growth from 12 to 24 sessions. Clients are typically seen from 3-6 months and some 6-12 months depending on the issues being addressed. Please note that therapeutic services could be longer than 12 months in some cases, however based on medical necessity.
Individual therapy rates are $135 per session.
Services for children, couples, and family are not available at this time.
48 hours of notice from your scheduled time is needed to avoid any late cancellation fee. The cancellation fee is 50% of the rate if its less than 48 hours, full rate if 24 hours or less. A no show will incur a fee at the full rate of a session or what is reimbursed by your insurance. A grace period of 10 minutes will hold your session time because sometimes things happen, otherwise it will be considered a same day late cancellation and will need to be rescheduled. As a reminder, no show results in a fee of the full rate of session/insurance reimbursement.
Courtesy billing is provided for the following insurances in California: Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, MHN/HealthNet, and Optum/UHC at this time. Please note that your plan may not be covered as in network and you are encouraged to verify before start of sessions to avoid any claim denials and interruptions in services or fees owed.
You may also request a Super Bill (detailed invoice of services that you have self-paid) that you can submit to your insurance plan to request reimbursement. Please note that this is not a guarantee you’ll be reimbursed and will need to confirm your OON benefits. I am an OON provider through Blue Shield of California and can provide a super bill to you for seeking reimbursements.
Please see the tab at the top of the page “Insurance” for more information. I am not a Medicare provider at this time.
Telehealth is provided through a HIPAA compliant video. A device with audio and video capabilities will be needed. It will be important to note where you are during your session in the event of an emergency. Telehealth is beneficial in that its convenient and can be provided wherever you are located as long as your are in California. Also, it’s important that you are in a safe and confidential environment, free from distractions, and you are not driving.
There are times when getting to an office for an appointment may not be in the cards! If you are interested in receiving therapy through Telehealth, please contact the office number and we can make arrangements even if you typically are seen in person!
